History ICT Day
Advantages Disadvantages
Saves you time (in the long run) – generate & save a range of re-usable resources, which can be modified & improved over time
Reliability – always have a backup plan
ICT can serve multiple purposes within your lesson plan-a whole lesson-combine multiple resources into one place-Play an interactive game-a single point within the lesson-starter/plenary-Bring the outside world into the classroom (internet)
Inclusion-what are the rest of the class doing whilst one/two students are using the SMARTboard interactively?
Learning styles - it is possible to cater for all learning styles if ICT is used effectively
Repetition- avoid doing exactly the same thing, but for different topics (variety is the spice of life!!!)
Tailor-made resources- You’re creating your own resources!- You decide the focus/key language/skills
Time consumingIt can initially take quite a while to create resources using ICT
Appeal to students- reach out to the pupils using technologies, devices & applications that they already love to use in their everyday lives
Develop teaching professionalsTeaching using ICT offers you the chance to adopt fresh approaches to familiar material & develop new skills
