Tradition of drinking tea in Russia

Although part of the ritual of tea was adapted from the British custom, the way Russians take it is quite different from the rest of Europe, they have the figure of Samovar, a tea specially designed to prepare and serve tea.

This way of serving tea is used today in Russia, although the samovar is less used and has almost become a decorative element. What they keep making is the system of the two teapots.

On one side we have a small kettle containing the highly concentrated tea leaf infusion.

and secondly a larger kettle containing boiled water.

They have the custom of drinking tea with milk, cream, lemon, honey, jams, sugar, berries or alcohol. Inside the kettle containing the concentrated tea infusion can be put mint leaves, currant leaf, raspberry and even herbs for flavor tea.

Ecuador will increase its exports to Russia

CETCA, the main exporter of tea in Ecuador

In 2010, the company began to export black tea with the name “Hornimans”. The bulk sales continues in the same way and are exported to the United States, Puerto Rico, Germany, Holland and since January 2013 this year is also exported to Malaysia.

The firm processes an average of 700 tons of tea leaves and herbs per year: 10% is domestic consumption; 60% is exported to the USA and 30% in the rest of the world.

The” horchata”, another option to export.

The mainly activity in Chuquiribamba (Loja) is agriculture, 60% of its 198 square miles in area cultivated tubers, fruits, vegetables and medicinal plants for the production of horchata in case.

The product composed of 28 herbs is processed 15 years ago on that inhabited by 2,466 people, who decided to come together and set up your own business community.

10 years ago the horchata from this community is sold in the United States through companies in the province of Azuay, they acquire this product for exporting under the name horchata "La Lojanita".

Residents of community make efforts at institutional level to export the product without intermediaries and gain higher profits. Currently, processing and sale of medicinal plants gives monthly $ 400 to each person who works on this.

In the domestic market a bag of 34 grams of horchata "La Lojanita" costs 50 cents, but the product also has a presentation on tea horchata, which costs USD 1.25.
