CAS HubsWHAT IS A CAS HUB?
A CAS HUB IS A MEETING OF TEACHERS WHO WISH TO SHARE THEIR IDEAS FOR
DEVELOPING THE TEACHING OF COMPUTING IN THEIR SCHOOLS, THEIR
CLASSROOMS AND THEIR COMMUNITY. IT IS A MEETING OF LIKE-MINDED
INDIVIDUALS WITH THE GENERAL OBJECTIVE OF SUPPORTING EACH OTHER
AND THE SPECIFIC AIM OF PROVIDING (AT LEAST) ONE IDEA THAT CAN BE TAKEN
AND TRIED IN THE CLASSROOM .
A Hub provides opportunities to have:
• Face to face networking with peers in the area over a cup of tea or coffee
• Open discussion of shared issues, such as how to introduce the new computing curriculum,
• Taster CPD sessions where programming languages and tools are demonstrated,
• Sharing of learning and resources which should help teachers in their day to day work.
Why should teachers attend a Hub meeting?
