•Gustar is not like other verbs...
•Remember that we should not attempt to translate literally, but rather translate ideas.

• In English we say; “I like to run.”
• In Spanish we would say; “Running is pleasing to me.”

• Gustar has only two forms, one singular, one plural...

Placement
•In a statement, the clarifier goes at the beginning of the sentence.
•A mí me gusta el inglés.
Placement
•In a question, the clarifier is usually put at the end of the sentence, but could be found at the beginning.
• ¿Le gusta correr a ella?
In use...
•Once a prepositional pronoun has clarified the sentence, we no longer need to use it.
• ¿Le gusta leer a ella?
•Sí, le gusta leer.
•When you are listing multiple people, you need to use an “a” before each person.
•A mi madre y a mi tío les gustan los panqueques.
•Please note the difference:
•A mí = to me (prepositional pronoun)
•mi = my (possessive pronoun)
A mí me gustan las floras
Yo / las floras
A Antonio y A Diana les gusta helado
Antonio y Diana / helado
A él le gusta correr y andar en bicicleta
