Worldwide , boys and Jewish girls celebrate their Bar and Bat Mitzvahs at the age of 13 and 12 years to demonstrate their commitment to faith and recognize their responsibility with Jewish law from that time. The religious ceremony is typically followed by a reception to celebrate the hard work and achievements of the young person , usually spend weeks studying and preparing for this day.
