Green Revolution
The changes brought about in agriculture by the
use of HYV seeds , chemical fertilizers and
machines are known as Green revolution
It is a modern agricultural stra
tegy introduced by
the government of India during 1966-67 to
increase agricultural production.

increased the yields of rice and wheat .
Disadvantages of Green Revolution
Increase the disparities between large and small farmers
The HYV seeds are more prone to attacks
The growing machineries caused unemployment
Use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides caused water pollution
