GOVERNMENT INSTITUTIONS vs. PRIVATE INSTITUTIONS

Page 2: Government Institutes v/s Private Institutes

The Indian Education system has been globally accepted as one of the best education in the world.

Educational institutions in India are primarily – Government and Private.

There are approximately 20 lakhs government and private institutions for primary studies.

Higher education constitutes of around 36000 government and private institutes.

Yet the literacy rate is just about 68.4% even when the total population is over 1.252 billion

THE INDIAN EDUCATION SYSTEM

Page 3: Government Institutes v/s Private Institutes

There is a huge difference between primary and higher institutions. Basic amenities in primary schools like classrooms, washrooms, teaching

equipment is of very poor quality. Most such schools even fail to manage books for the students.

Education quality is inferior and course structure vague. Management often finds it difficult to ensure proper attendance of both

students and teachers. Salary of teachers in most such schools is very low. Lower middle class and above category people generally try to avoid

getting there ward enrolled in such schools even if the private schools charge with twice the amount.

GOVERNMENT INSTITUTIONS (primary)

Page 4: Government Institutes v/s Private Institutes

Unlike the primary schools, most of the government colleges are aided with world class resources like smart classes, advanced labs, Wi-Fi campus ,etc.

The quality of education is much better and students get much better exposure to the outside world.

Fee structure is less and merit is the primary criteria. Management is much better and there is more professional

interactive environment for the student and the teachers. Unlike the government schools, people try their best to get their

wards enrolled in such institutes.

GOVERNMENT INSTITUTIONS (secondary)

Page 5: Government Institutes v/s Private Institutes

Unlike the government institutes, there isn’t much difference between the layouts of the primary and higher private institutes.

Much costlier than government institutes hence everyone cannot afford it. Very good quality infra structures and basic facilities. Equipped with latest educational trends and equipments. Most parents aim for getting their children enrolled in good private school

but government institutes still remain the first preference in terms of higher education.

Most of the private institutions are run by businessmen or Multi National Companies so either way, gaining more profit is there top priority.

PRIVATE INSTITUTIONS (primary and secondary)

Page 6: Government Institutes v/s Private Institutes

GOVERNMENT INSTITTUTES Noticeably huge difference between

primary and higher education institutes.

While the condition of education is utterly poor in primary schools, colleges prove out to be extensively better.

Answerable to the government, so less chances of corruption.

Work for the benefit of students and not any private firm.

PRIVATE INSTITTUTES

There is much more consistency in both primary as well as secondary institutes.

Education is quality is very nice in both the aspects.

Mostly managed by businessmen and/or MNCs so often overcharge the parents.

Irrespective of the results and outcomes, earning profit is always a top priority

BASIC DIFFERENCE

Page 7: Government Institutes v/s Private Institutes

Government schools can be highly productive and helpful to the country if the concerned management takes keen interest in its welfare.

Basic requirements need to be fulfilled in such schools. Government schools require equal attention as government

colleges. There needs to be a one affiliation standard adopted by

these institutes.

FUTURE SCOPE (government)

Page 8: Government Institutes v/s Private Institutes

Private institutes both primary and secondary need to be more transparent in their working procedure and format of selection.

Should be answerable to the government. Should rather collaborate with primary schools which will

be helpful for both students as well as the investing firm. Fees and other educational costs/charges need to be more

channelized and justified

FUTURE SCOPE (private)
