Aphrodite

When Kronos killed his fathers members and threw them in the ocean, the foam created a child (Aphrodite) Aphrodite actually means foam born.

He is also called Phoebes Apollo. Phoebes means ray of sun (light). He also would ride his chariot through the sky each day, setting and rising the sun.

It is unknown but some believe her name is based on the greek word safe and sound.

Poseidon

His name is connected to potos, pontos, and potamos, according to which he is the god of the fluid element. He was born in the water and they thought he seemed like the natural god of water.

Demeter

Her name originally meant earth-mother, therefore the goddess of grain- which in ancient Greece was the staff of life.
