The Glorious Revolution

➢ It came at the end of a reign when James II wanted Roman Catholicism reinstalled as the country’s religion

Whig and Tory parties

➢ The policies of James II had caused much discontent

➢ They sent an ‘Invitation’ to William of Orange to take the throne of the country

Bill of Rights

● it said that James had abandoned the government.● The Bill of Rights forbade the monarch to be a Catholic

and from marrying a Catholic.
