I've found the Global Classroom project very much beneficial to bring the whole world to the classroom. Many new people, many new projects, many new ideas, great assistance in learning; fun and worthy. More than that I've opportunity to learn to integrate EdTech in teaching. It gives opportunity to have direct contact to the teachers and students. Lucky the EdTech users!

GC project is a great tool to integrate students into global education and enrich our teaching experiences with the help of dedicated teachers across the globe.

The Global Genius Hour Projecttheglobalgeniushourproject.wikispaces.com/

This year I thought about how I could contribute to the Global Classroom Project community.

I wondered how I could share my passion for Genius Hour with others and provide an opportunity for students and educators to share their genius!

I created this space for others to learn and share with each other! To date there are over 40 classes participating!!

What have I gained from my first foray into Global projects over the last year?• Twitter is an amazingly powerful tool for connecting educators across the world . I have made

amazing connections such as Karen and Katy and feel honoured to work with them.• The children sense the ‘realness’ of the activities and are excited to make connections with

children from other countries.• The projects are a springboard for learning about new ways to present information in a digital,

global classroom.• Participating in projects changes your point of view when planning your own activities – you

can never go back! I am thrilled to be part of this community and I look forward to participating in other innovative projects.

A truly unforgettable year of

Feedback• A truly unforgettable year of teaching and learning, I made so many friends!

• I participated in several of the projects and made many connections over the past two years

• My school is part of the Microsoft Partners in learning Innovative Schools program – we’ve been learning so much about 21st Century Learning Design – I’m really excited to meet like-minded educators which whom I can collaborate with on a Global scale! You are all amazing!

• I presented a workshop at one of our conferences that everyone contributed to, thanks so much! I am hoping to attract more teachers this coming school year.

Page 44: Global Classroom 2012 13: "Looking Forwards, Looking Back" Closing Webinar Presentation

Feedback• Global classroom projects can incorporate so many of the new ideas: PBL,

Genius Hours, Flipped Classroom

• A year I will never forget. So much learning took place – myself included!

• I wish my colleagues would embrace this too – learning beyond the classroom walls.

• I have moderated many #globalclassroom chats and made so many great connections.

Page 45: Global Classroom 2012 13: "Looking Forwards, Looking Back" Closing Webinar Presentation

What did our students learn?

• “They enjoyed meeting kids from all over the world and learning about other places.”

• “My students learned that they had so much in common with everyone all over the globe. More similarities than differences! Learning about others is key to world peace!”
