Brief History of Computers

Early 1800’s - development of machines that could be programmed; controlled by punch cards

1886 - punch card machine run by electricity

1890 - U.S. Census results tabulated for the first time using punch cards

1944 - IBM & Howard Aiken developed 50 ft long x 8 ft high machine that could +, - , X, / and refer to tables

Effective Slide Design

Don’t use colours that look bad on eachother or are hard to see

You shouldn’t type everything that you will say on the slide

Don’t use crazy transitions that could possibly make the audience dizzy
