TRANSITIONAL SEDIMETARY ENVIRONMENT

This picture was taken at the Slick Rock Recreation in Lake Kaweah in Three Rivers California. This slick rock represents on of the most quietest places to go where you can see cliff lines and where this is a little bit of weathering from where the trees are standing and also years of deforming.

MECHANICAL WEATHERING FROST WEATHERING

This picture was taken at Lake Kaweah towards Three Rivers. It shows the frost from all the cold weather that took place. This looks like it had been frosted over the years because of all the rough weather that was hit with it. I could just feel the smoothness and could not take a piece of it because it was private property.

MECHANICAL ROOT WEATHERING

This is the best example that I could find for Mechanical Root Weathering. The roots that grow under the rock you could not see to much unless you got down in the water. It’s pretty cold this time of year. But you could still see the trees growing around the rocks and inside the ground Around the rocks itself.

MECHANICAL WASTE AND EROSION

MECHANICAL WAST AND EROSION CONTINUE

This was a picture that was taken at the gate way of the sequoias. This picture represents old dirt and old tree leaves that are filtering through these rocks from all over the rivers. The water becomes corroded until it dries out for the winter and new water comes in.

CONTINENTIAL SEDIMENTARY ENVIRONMENT

This picture you see is a picture of the way to Three Rivers towards Sequoia National Park. Streams of water that is flowing through this river is coming from the Kaweah Marina located in Lemon Cove,California. Many people love to see this as they travel through Three Rivers. Nice scenery.

MARINE SEDIMENTARY ENVIORNMENT

Marine Sedimentary environment are divided according to depth. Marine environments reaches to depths of about 200 meters (nearly 700 feet) and extends to shore from the outerEdge of the continental shelf. This picture was taken at Avila beach which the day was nice and warm. Beautiful weather that day.

PRACTICAL USE OF GEOLOGY

This bridge that you see is Pumpkin Hallow Bridge located as you enter Sequoia National Park which is located by a dam. I couldn’t really get a good view because where I was standing I almost got ran over several times. This is an arched bridge made out of concrete . This is the bridge for the entrance for Sequoia National Park.

FINAL THOUGHTS

This what a picture of Three Rivers looks at night. I tried to get some light in it but it was to dark already. This is a picture of rock slide near a camp ground where the camp ground is very old. I believe this is where many people come to relax and enjoy themselves. Overall by doing this geology project was a tough one but I really learned a lot and enjoyed the class. Thanks everyone for the help and encouragement.
