I just bought a new car, and I’d like totry AMSOIL motor oil. Could usingAMSOIL void my new car warranty?

Absolutely not. Vehicle manufacturersrecommend using motor oils meetingcertain viscosity grades and AmericanPetroleum Institute service requirements.Whether the motor oil is petroleum based orsynthetic will not affect warranty coverage.The manufacturer is required to cover allequipment failures it would normally coveras long as the oil meets the requirementsand was not the cause of the failure.AMSOIL exceeds these requirements andhas never been deemed the cause of anengine’s failure. Even so, AMSOIL has itsown limited warranty, protecting you evenfurther. In addition, the federally mandatedMagnuson-Moss Act states that a manu-facturer may not require the use of a specificbrand of aftermarket product unless it’sprovided free of charge.

What’s the difference between con-ventional petroleum motor oils andsynthetic motor oils?

Conventional petroleum oils are refined fromcrude oil which is pumped from within theearth. The refining process, however, doesnot remove many of the impurities inherentin the crude oil. These impurities detractfrom the lubricating ability of the oil andcontribute to deposit, sludge and varnishformation. AMSOIL synthetic motor oils areconstructed in the laboratory and containno impurities. AMSOIL synthetic motor oilshave uniform molecular structures and aredesigned for specific lubricating applications.They are not affected by the high tempera-tures or demanding operating conditions ofmodern engines.

I was always told to change my oil every3,000 miles if I wanted to properly main-tain my vehicle. How is it possible todrive 25,000 miles without an oil changeusing AMSOIL synthetic motor oil?

AMSOIL synthetic motor oils are guaranteedto run 25,000 miles or one year in mechanicallysound engines in normal service, 15,000 milesor one year in severe service, providing the oilis kept free of contaminants by changing theoil filter according to the manufacturer’s rec-ommendation or, when using an AMSOIL EaOil Filter, changing the filter at one year or25,000 miles, whichever comes first. AMSOIL synthetic motor oils provideextended drain performance because theydon’t break down in heat like conventionalpetroleum oils do. AMSOIL costs more than my regular oildoes. How can I justify paying thishigher cost?
