Frogs and Toads What’s the Difference?

Most people find it hard to find the difference between frogs and toads.People do get them mix up. Although they seem similar in appearance, but they docertainly have differences too.

Frogs are found in different shapes, sizes, and textures. They have pointedheads. They have smooth skin, and slim bodies. They also are green and brown, with dark markings. They have different eye colors including, brown, silver, green, gold, and red. Frogs spend most of their time near and in water.Frogs are active inday and night. Some Frogs have sticky padding on their feet while others havewebbed feet. Frogs live up to 10 years. They even, have back legs longer than thefront ones. It easy to see not all frogs have the same qualities.

Toads have numerous shapes, sizes, and textures, but they don’t have muchvariety in color. Toads are chubby and have warty, rough skin, and plumpbodies. They also have Beige skin with brown markings. Toads also has apoisonous skin so their enemies are careful with them.Toads prefer to live on land,

like fields, woods, and gardens. They are active at night, but sleep through the day.Their pupil do have different shapes and sizes, and different colors, but generallythey are eggshaped, small and black. Toads usually have webbed feet, and theyhave short back legs.

Frogs and Toads have some things in common . They are both amphibians. That means they live on land and in water at different times in their lives. Frogs andToads share the same eating habits. Both of them lay their eggs in water. Toadsand Frogs have the same enemies like snakes, and birds. They eat insects withtheir long sticky tongues, and gulp down their prey. They almost eat the same foodslike bugs, fish, insects, etc. But a frog has a crest of very small cone teeths aroundthe upper jaw edge to seize the food. On the other hand, toads doesn’t have anyteeth at all.

To really sum it up, frogs and toads do seem similar but they have differentqualities regarding shape, size, color, and texture. It is obvious that not even all thefrogs have same qualities; toads prove to have even more in differences. So it isclear to me that people mistake while figuring out the difference between a frog anda toad. It how a frog differs from a toad. (413)
