01 Intro Title of the video Photos/music/video
Lessons learned – Don’ts• Don’t video a complete session – too much information to
try to edit!!• Don’t set up the video too far away from the Trainer –
can’t hear trainer’s voice but sure can hear everyone else’s carry on!!
• Don’t try to video power point presentations in a sunlight filled room that can’t be dampened – all you record is bright white light!
Lessons learned – Dos• Develop a story board giving direction and purpose for
what you are doing and what the outcome is to be.• Develop a script to ensure the video and photo’s flow and
are covering the critical aspects of the skill required.• Do it one step at a time! – breakdown the steps into short
2 – 4 minute video segments. • Add ‘still shot’ photos to illustrate in addition to the video,
or to highlight a step in the process• Allow time between video segments for diversity of
learning styles and be mindful of Literacy, Language and numeracy aspects.
