Legal Considerations Film rights [basing on existing idea/ material] Copyright Permissions to film i.e. in certain locations e.g. on the Underground Filming with children Certification Filming in the Park – We don’t need permission to film in the park; however we need to ensure that we don’t include any strangers walking past. This is because we don’t have permission to include them and it would also ruin the isolated theme of our film. Film certification – due to the theme of violence, and nature of the film, our film would be certified a 12. There aren’t many graphic or gory scenes; however, there are themes not appropriate for children under the age of 12. If we decide to use music, we will keep it minimal and create our own using garage band. Ethical Issues Being sensitive to representations in your film and how different audience may perceive them e.g. gender, ethnicity, disability or issues such as rape/ drug use and terrorism There are issues to do with violence and abuse, but these are limited and aren’t present on screen for long. The themes are hinted at, and convey the idea rather than directly represent what happens, this is why it would be certified a 12. There is mild blood and weaponry present however these themes are often exposed 12 certified films.

Health and Safety IssuesConsider the risks involved in filming: Night-time/ isolated/ dangerous locations, action sequences, filming cars/driving, filming with children/animals, props e.g. knivesDO NOT CONSIDER FILMING INVOLVING PERSONAL DANGER – DISSCUSS ISSUES WITH A TEACHER

We are in a public environment in Wanstead park, and so we must be aware of strangers, especially in more isolated sections of the forest. We will all stick together, and have each other’s contact numbers, in order to make sure we are all safe. We will be using a knife in our house scenes, however, this will be supervised at Mimi’s house, and will not be targeted at anyone as it will simply be a ‘silhouette’ like effect.
