Food groups
We categorise food into food groups.
• The foods in each group help our bodies in different ways:• Some foods “help us grow”.• Some foods “ give us energy”.• Some foods “keep us healthy”.• Some foods “are good for our
bones and teeth”.
1.- Carbohydrates. Carbohydrates give us
energy.
bread rice
pasta
2.- Fats. Fats give us energy.
butter
olive oil
3.- Proteins. Proteins help us grow.
fish
meat
eggs
4.- Dairy products. Dairy products are good for
our bones and teeth.
milk cheese yoghurt
5.- Fruit and vegetables. Fruit and vegetables keep us
healthy.
