Community Enterprise Society Ltd
The Terenure Enterprise Centre was established in 1984 as a result of 600 people from the local area gathering together at a public meeting to decide on options available to remedy the problem of 400-plus unemployed people in their area (Irish Times 1984).

Forward Directions:
Volunteers –building for the future means attracting good volunteers and working with them to use and develop their skills. Action: recruiting and training a body of volunteers to provide cost effect training to older people and to develop sustainability.
SIGs: Active Senior IT Society to develop and use their IT skills through special interest groups. Comprise digital media, genealogy and creative writing, Action: SIGs should begin as soon as possible and be self managing.
Workshops: Action: building for the future means accommodating the needs of older people, and our findings point to a need for shorter more practical workshop programmes similar to model adopted by Simple.i.t.
Induction programme: Action: an Induction Programme should be developed to welcome new members and to support and facilitate greater interaction of all members”.
