Finding Industry Reports

1. From the Library homepage click on Databases

2. Select either ‘I’ for IBISWorld, ‘P’ for Passport or ‘M’ for Marketline.

3. Click on the database name and login with your University username and password

An industry report is a comprehensive account of a particular industry and will contain a wide range of information, facts and statistics.

Use the recommended databases IBISWorld, Passport (Euromonitor) or Marketline Advantage through the Library website to search for industry reports. Try numerous databases to see which has better information about your industry.

Search using the IBISWorld Database

1. Click on the option for Australia Industry Reports (ANZSIC)

2. Search for an industry or select one of the industry sector options

3. Select the industry

4. Browse the report online using the tabs above the heading

5. Print the whole report or download as a PDF

Browse using the Passport Database

Using the browse function:

1. From the options at the top, go to INDUSTRIES

2. Select the industry

3. To narrow the information further, open the drop-down menu under the Analysis Finder and select an option.

Search using Passport (Euromonitor)

Using the search function:

1. Using the search box in the top right corner, type in a keyword – do not press enter

2. Suggested industries will appear; select one and click the search icon

3. Narrow results to a particular country, if needed

4. From the results list, click on a heading to see the report

Look through the results list as other useful information may also be available.

5. To see a geographical area, use Select Geography…, open the drop-down menu and select the country or region

6. Click Go

Search using the Marketline Advantage Database

Using the search function:

1. Type the industry you are after into the search box, and change the drop down box from All Research to Industries. Click search.

2. Refine your search by Geography or further by Industry on the right hand side.

3. Click on the title you are after to view or download the report.
