The colour scheme is mainly purple and this is effective because it makes it “feminine” and the different shades of purple used make it look eye catching and fits well with the genre of film. The font used is also effective because it is simple bold and it highlights the genre of film again because of the “mean” being bolder than the “girls”. The tagline is also emphasised and it is large and this also highlights the genre of film. The credits are put across horizontally down and this was useful because then it didn’t look inconvenient and fitted with the structure and the layout of the film poster. I also like the way that the names of the actresses have been put and think that this fits well with the theme of the film and the overall genre.

Mean Girls

The main elements of mise en scene are props, characters, actors, setting, location, colour and lighting.Props: The props within this film still would be the bags that the girls are holding and carrying.Characters: The main characters within this scene are mainly the four girls who star in the film. They are all positioned a certain way and it shows their attitude to one another which shows the genre of the film. Cady, (Lindsay Lohan) is the main character here who attracts the most attention because of her posture, clothing and her facial emotions. Actors: The actors and actresses within this film include: Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfriend, Tina Fey, Lacey Chambert and Aaron Samuels.

Setting: The setting of this scene is highlighted clearly. It takes place at an American high school and you can tell this from this shot because of the lockers in the background and the other students who seem to be doing what school students do; on their phone and socialising. Location: I would say that the location of this film would be in a high school and in the girls' homes. Colour: The colours of this film still are really bright and eye catching. They have made the colours bright and eye catching therefore it clearly shows the genre romantic comedy. Most colours are pink and this highlights the lightness of the film. Lighting: The lighting of this film is clearly high key and artificial lighting, this would have been used because at night time the lighting wouldn't be bright enough in order to see the characters within the film and it would look more like a horror film. Whereas with this kind of lighting it gives the scene a happy feeling.
