Drawing materials

PaperPaper is made of cellulose that is obtained from trees

The paper size that we use is A4 . Sizes: 297x210 mm

Pencils and rubbersA pencil has a lead covered with wood. The lead is made with graphite and clay (the more clay it contains the harder the lead will be). We use letter H for hard pencils and letter B for soft ones.

Erasers are made of rubber, they absorb graphite and erase it.

Drawing tools and how to use them

CompassIt is used for drawing circles, angles and transfering measures

THE RULERIt is a precision tool that allows you to measure and transfer distances.

TRIANGULAR SET SQUARE A set square is a tool for drawing parallel and perpendicular lines and for getting angles. There are 2 types of triangular set squares

Parallels and perpendiculars

How to use drawing tools

Drawing angles: we can get 15, 30, 45, 60, 75, 90, 120, 135angles by combining the 30, 45, 60 and the 90 angles from the set squares

You can get 45, 75, 90, 120 angles combining the set squares

ACTIVITIES:

1st: Draw the set squares in your notebook as you can see them in both positions

2nd: Draw a chessboard using the set square. The separation between squares is 2 cm!

3rd: Drawing angles exercise: you have to obtain, 45, 75, 90, 120 angles combining the set squares
