The professional fees should be a fair reflection of the value of the work performed for the client, taking into account: The skill and knowledge required for the type of work
involved. The level of training and experience of the persons
necessarily engaged in the work. The time necessarily occupied by each person engaged
in the works. The degree of responsibility and urgency that the work
entails.

Fees should not be charged on a percentage or similar basis except were that method is authorized by statute or is a generally accepted practice for certain specialist work; nor should instruction be accepted on the contingency fee basis.
Contingency fees - fees based on the outcome of the engagement.

Objective of rule on commission: To discourage the payment or acceptance of
commissions by members in their dealings, as such a practice may lead to a compromise in ethical and professional standards.
Prohibits: Member from paying a commission to obtain a
client, or accepting a commission for a referral to a client of products and services.
