When operating in the field, the AAFC may provide either ration packs or fresh rations or a

combination of both

•ADF Combat rations are designed to give personnel a balanced diet

•Menu/Dietary information is enclosed in both types

•1 Man 24HR

Fresh Rations

• Work out number of breakfasts, lunches & dinners required

• Make a menu for each

• Make sure the food selected is balanced

• Select food which will include the five major food groups

•Water is the most vital fluid required by the body

•Sweet soft drinks are not suitable in the field

•They tend to make the person feel thirsty again soon after drinking

•Fruit juices are very good•They provide fluid and vitamins at the same time
