JAMMU & KASHMIR
The Hemis Festival is dedicated to Lord Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche) venerated as the Dance Performance at Hemis Monastery representative reincarnate of Buddha. He is believed to have been born on the 10th day of the fifth month of the Monkey year as

HIMACHAL

Gugga (also known as Gugga Pir, Gugga
Jaharpir, Gugga Chohan, Gugga
Rana, Gugga Vir and various others) is venerated for protection against snake bite and is the folk deity . He
is known as Gogaji in and Gugga Ji Haryana .
RAJASATHAN
Gangaur is colourful and one of the most important festivals of people of
Rajasthan and is observed throughout the state with
great fervour and devotion by womenfolk who worship Gauri
, the consort of Lord Shiva during March–April. It is the
celebration of spring, harvest and marital fidelity
GUJARAT
Rann Utsav is an awesome festival of Kutch, Gujarat, India. It is a Carnival of
Music, Dance, nature beauty of White Rann and much more then that when visit

MAHARASHTRA
Ganesh Chaturthi (also known as Vināyaka Chaturthi, Gaṇēśa
Chaturthī or Vināyaka Chavithi) is the Hindu festival celebrated in honour of the elephant-headed
god, Ganesha. This is a very auspicious day celebrated to pray
to the god so that every new activity that is started is
successfully completed without any obstacles (Vighna = Obstacle).
UTTAR PRADESH
Kumbh Mela or Kumbha Mela is a mass Hindu
pilgrimage of faith in which Hindus gather to bathe in a
sacred river. Traditionally, four fairs are widely recognized as
the Kumbh Melas:
UTTARAKHAND
The Magh Mela is one of the greatest annual religious affairs for Hindus.
Hindu mythology considers the origin of the Magh Mela to be the beginning
of the Universe. An important occasion, the Magh Mela is held
every year on the banks of Triveni Sangam (the confluence of the three
great rivers Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati) in Prayag near Allahabad

JHARKHAND
Sarhul is celebrated during spring season and the Saal trees
get new flowers on their branches. It is a worship of the village deity who is considered
to be the protector of the tribes. People sing and dance a lot
when the new flowers appear. The deities are worshiped with
saal flowers.
KARNATAKA
Pattadakal is a small town located in the state of
Karnataka, India. Every year in the month of January/
February, a famous cultural dance event is held here
that is known as Pattadakal Dance Festival.
TAMILNADU
Thai Pongal is one of the most important festivals
celebrated by Tamil people[1][2] in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, Thai Pongal corresponds to Makara Sankranthi, the winter
harvest festival celebrated throughout India
ANDHRA PRADESH
Pitru Paksha is considered by Hindus to be inauspicious,
given the death rite performed during the ceremony, known as Shraddha ortarpan. In
southern and western India, it falls in the 2nd paksha

Bhadrapada (September)and follows the forthnight immediately after the

ODISHA
Raja Parba or Mithuna Sankranti (Odia: ରଜ ପର୍ବ�) is a
four-day-long festival and the second day signifies beginning of the solar
month of Mithuna from, which the season of rains starts. It inaugurates and welcomes the agricultural year all over Odisha, which marks, through biological

WEST BENGAL
Dussehra (Vijaya Dashami, Dasara, or Dashain) is a
Hindu festival that celebrates the victory of
good over evil. It is a gazetted holiday in India,
which is marked on the 10th day of the bright half
(Shukla Paksha) of the month of Ashvin
(Ashwayuja), according to the Hindu calendar.
BIHAR
Chhath is an ancient Hindu Vedic festival dedicated to the Hindu Sun God, Surya and Chhathi Maiya. The
Chhath Puja is performed in order to thank Surya for sustaining life on earth and to request the granting of
certain wishes
ASSAM
The Bihus have been celebrated in Assam since
ancient times. Each Bihu coincides with a
distinctive phase in the farming calendar. The most important and colourful of
the three Bihu festival is the Spring festival "Bohag Bihu" or Rongali Bihu celebrated in
the middle of April.
MADHYA PRADESH
Khajuraho dance festival, organised by the Madhya Pradesh Kala Parishad, is a one-week-long festival of classical dances held annually against the spectacular backdrop of the magnificently lit Khajuraho temples in Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh state in central India. The Khajuraho Festival of Dance is conducted
every year of February from the 20th to the 26th.
NAGALAND
The Hornbill festival is a celebration held every
year in the first week of December, in Nagaland,
North-east India. It is also called as the
'Festival of Festivals'.
KERALA
Onam (Malayalam) is a festival celebrated in
Kerala, India. It is also the state festival of Kerala
with State holidays on 4 days starting
from Onam Eve (Uthradom) to the
3rd Onam Day.
MEGHALYA
Dance is central to the culture of Khasi life, and a part of the rites of passage. Dances are
performed in Shnong (village), a Raid (group of villages), and
a Hima (conglomeration of Raids). Some festivals includes Ka Shad
Suk Mynsiem, Ka Pom-Blang Nongkrem, Ka-Shad Shyngwiang-
Thangiap, Ka-Shad-Kynjoh Khaskain, Ka Bam Khana Shnong, Umsan Nongkharai, Shad Beh Sier.
SIKKIM
Saga Dawa is the festival celebrated to
commemorate the birth anniversary of this great
spiritual leader. Government declares holiday on this day.
