Studying languages is not enjoyable for all people. Many of them find it very boring and tiring. If this is

the case with the adults just imagine what about the kids then? A very pioneering and interesting way

developed in 1992 and 1993 in Florida, Phono-Graphix. It is a revolutionary way of tutoring for English

reading basically. Through this concept even adults are finding it very easy to learn English

pronunciations and reading fluently. Especially for kids who are dyslexic, this technique of reading has

helped them go long-long wayand overcome their disability. Learning this way can be endlessly

enthralling, challenging and diverse.

Phono-Graphix reading program works on a very basic methodology. Children are trained not to get

worried or baffled by weird spellings as the first lesson that they are taught of advanced code teaches

them the sound O. for e.g. in the word ‘nose’ the O sound is shown by o-e and in ‘road’ by o-a.

Phonographic discuses about the pictures of sound i.e. letters are depiction of sounds. Since most of the

sounds can be revealed with more than a picture, there is variation in the cod like, we can write boat as

‘b oa t’ or though as ‘th ough’.

This way children can easily memorize things rather than just mugging up. A child may not individually

remember a ball, a moon or a flower but s/he can certainly remember a circle. Children learn fast if they

find it interesting and playing with images and words would create their interest. This will help them

improve test scores as well as grades and also improve communication skills in the long run. Every child

is same its just that some a need a little more brush up.
