Presentation Outline

Introduction

Why does Hollywood always buzz with excitement when the Academy Awards are around the corner?

It is partially because of the glamorous stars that will be seen and the thrill of maybe seeing our predictions come true.

Introduction

There is also excitement because of the gossip that will swirl and the fine clothes the stars will robe themselves in.

Ah! Clothes, costumes, make-up and all the fine details—they are what is truly fine about what Hollywood produces, and this attention to detail is something we all should have a chance to see and be inspired by.

History of the FIDM

FIDM students have complete access to a 10,000 piece garment collection which consists of significant clothing from the late 19th century to the present day, including theater and film costumes. Students are allowed to handle and examine the construction, trim, styling, fabrics, and period details of the collection.

Dates, Times, and Prices

The exhibit will be showing until May 3rd from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., and it’s absolutely FREE to view it. The FIDM wants to attract people to the wonder and possibilities of the professions it specializes in. Also, if our group is too large to enter all at once, the campus has beautiful green areas to hang out in while students await their turns to enter the exhibit’s magic.

Number of Students and Chaperones

Conclusion

The attention to detail in the costumes in the FIDM exhibit is awe-inspiring, especially since, though what a movie camera captures astounds us, the detail it can not see in this case is nothing short of incredible. The men and women who made these costumes must have had a love of their craft and excellence that can inspire all of us.
