The masthead of my magazine, entitled "PUNCH" is in a font intended to look like army stencils, which adds to the violent connotations of the word, which represent the rebellious associations of rock music. The masthead is in a slightly faded read so as to not appear too striking and diminish the effect of the light colour scheme, as well as showing that the magazine focuses on more than just the "hardcore" elements of rock. This shows the genre and style of the magazine effectively without making it appear to male-oriented.

My front cover features a male, aged 16. This represents the main age group I am targeting, however it only targets the males and my magazine is intended for both genders. To target females as well, I used a light colour scheme gender-neutral colours such as light blues, purples with some reds that contrasts from the usual stark colour scheme of rock magazines that can be off-putting to females.

Bauer Media could publish my magazine as they have an extensive knowledge of rock magazine publication and there is a gap in the market for a magazine like this.

They already publish three rock magazines: Q, Mojo, and Kerrang!

Whilst this means greater competition for my magazine, it also means they have great knowledge in selling rock magazines which would help my magazine to be successful. They also have room for a magazine like this as none of the magazines they publish include the sub-genre that my magazine focuses on.

Q focuses on pop and rock music, particularly new bands.

Mojo focuses on classic rock,

And Kerrang! Focuses on metal and alternative.

This leaves a gap in the market for my magazine which focuses on pop punk.
