Codes and Conventions:

Within my preliminary task, I ensured that I used codes and conventions which are in magazines. However, the way I initially did it, it was very basic and looked amateur. I used a lot of colour and didn’t think about how it impacted the look and feel of the magazine. With my main task, I have taken more consideration with how I set out my magazine so it had a more professional look to the magazine. On my preliminary task, the front cover was very basic as I just added text to an image whereas now I spent more time on how the cover is arranged and how it looks compared to real magazines and how it represents the genre for my magazine.

Technology:

I have massively improved when it comes to using technology as with the preliminary task I took little care with how I used photoshop or quark and how it looked. On photoshop I made sure that I used techniques carefully so that the magazine looks more professional, instead of very basic. With Quark, I had help to rearrange my text and images so that it followed the codes and conventions of music magazines. Within the preliminary task, I tried to use all I had been shown in my contents page, but in doing so I made it look basic and amateur.
