Introduction about our audience feedback

• Our audience feedback was gathered by getting a sample of 20 people to view our music video and giving them post production questionnaires that were related to our production. We highlighted the production to this particular group of people to display what our media product consisted of and how much effort we included within the production. Following this, they gave us verbal feedback about the positives of our video and things that we could have potentially changed to make it look better. Secondly, the sample wrote their ideas down on the questionnaires about whether they enjoyed aspects of our production, or whether it could be changed to ultimately make it look more effective and original.

• After looking at all the feedback, our group took into consideration all of the negative feedback that was given to us both verbally and on paper. We then went back to the media suite to change elements of our music video the sample didn’t enjoy, so we could ultimately make it look a lot more enjoyable, interesting and effective (also so we could therefore get the best grade possible).

Positive feedback we learnt from our audience research

- The audience stated that they enjoyed the variety of locations we utilised in our music video. This was shown within the results we gathered, which highlighted that our variety of locations made the overall production seem fun and entertaining.

- Moreover, some audience feedback highlighted that the video contained an exciting display of images and was flowed well throughout the entire production. This ultimately highlights that that these particular people felt that overall, our production was very strong and contained elements that made it look like a proper music video.

- Likewise, the audience enjoyed the mixture of both coloured lighting and black and white footage because, according to our audience, it made ‘our production more interesting and clear’.

- Our questionnaire results also highlighted that the lip synching was mostly in time with the music. However, some members of the audience said that parts of the lip synching was not in time with the music. For example, one person highlighted that ‘the lip synching could have been better, as some of the words that were coming out of the artists mouth was not in time with the lyrics’. In turn, our group did our best to defeat this problem by going back onto Adobe Premiere 2.0, in which we did sort out our lip synching problems.

Negative feedback we learnt from our audience feedback

- The audience stated that they enjoyed the montage editing within our music production, as it flowed with the pace of the music being played. Moreover, one member of the audience stated that the use of montage editing created an exciting and interesting effect.

- However, there were also some members of the audience that criticised our montage editing as according to them, it was too repetitive and unoriginal. Also, they also commented on the fact that we 'apparently' didn't include that many camera angles, which made our production seem ' boring and unoriginal'. As a result of getting this negative feedback, our group went down to the media suite to defeat this problem. The first thing we did to make better our video was look through various concert footage that we recorded from a high and low angles. From this, we then implemented certain footage into places on the timeline that we felt would help make the production look a lot more genuine and realistic, but most importantly, engage the audience with our product.

- The following week, we distributed out 10 more post-production questionnaires out to a new sample of people to see how they felt about the music video we produced. From this particular feedback, all our results were positive. For example, one member of the sample said that 'the footage within the video made the production look realistic, I never wanted the music video to end'. This emphasises that with collective contribution and effort and hard work paid off. In turn, we had created a fun, and exciting product.

- Likewise, one of the members of the audience stated that there was 'no correspondence with the lyrics and the images displayed. The reason for this is because was because wanted to create a performance related video that only depicted our artist singing in a concert, as opposed to images that related to the lyrics – 'love'. This highlighted that some people from this sample wanted more elements of narrative related visuals, because it would improve our overall production, if our group were to utilise some narrative related visuals within the video.
