In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products? When filming we decided not to have the stereotypical ‘bad guy’, we didn’t use a man to play the role but instead used a teenage girl. We did this because we didn’t want to keep everything the same in most movies. We wanted to make some of different and not very predictable. However, we did keep the stereotypical ‘damsel in distress’. She was left vulnerable when she was on her, this on its own created suspense making the audience wanting to know what is going to happen to her. We wanted to use a teenage girl as the victim because of our audience most like being teenagers and girls, this would have a bigger effect on the audience. Thrillers are mainly set is dark and mysterious places so we decided to set it in a forest, this is common in thriller films for it to be set in a forest, this gives the audience a hint that it could be a thriller. This creates tension for the audience making them guess what is going to happen while they’re in the forest and throughout the entire film, it gives them hints that something bad is going to happen. There was a grey scale edit giving the effect of a gloomy place although it was high key lighting and thrillers are mainly low key it still manages to create an atmosphere. Sound effects that was used during the film opening was screaming , this was to build curiosity and making the audience want to know what has happened and what is going to happen next. There was also sound of a twig or stick breaking this created this was to make the audience feel as though the y are being followed . The editing pace was very face , everything happened very quickly . it slowed down when the main character was looking in the distance and also when she is tying her shoe . it then speeds up and cuts to a blank when she is grabbed .

For the characters their clothes was casual this is to make it seem as though everything is ok and unaware of what is about to happen. However, the killer clothes was different to the rest she was dressed all in black and her face was covered , this is t create suspense and for the audience to guess who the killer was and what her true identity is .
