What kind of institutions might distribute your media product and why? When doing research I found that an institution that might distribute our media product is Warner Bro. I found that one of the most common genres for Warner to release is thrillers like Batman, Harry Potter , the conjuring etc. We chose Warner because we like the way it used a lot of suspense and jump moments throughout their films and , we used them as an influence on our opening sequence . In their thriller films I found that there is low key lighting or has a grey effect on it . So we used this when making ours , this is to create a mood or to suggest that there is something bad . They also use non diegetic music which creates a tense feeling . So used the same idea . Using both grey effect and suspense music , it helped create tension in our opening sequence . At the start of our opening sequence we used a Warn bro. opening sequence, we used one that is not like their most common one with the bridge blue background and gold symbol , we used a dark and gloomy looking one , where the background was low key lighting and the symbol was not as colourful. The music that was used to go with it was very intense which fitted in with our film. But we did also come up with our own which was called ‘CHILLER PRODUCIONS’ .

Who would be the audience for your media product ?When planning our film we decided that it was going to be rated 15+ , this is because we wanted it to appeal to teenagers . We found when doing our surveys that the people who answered them was female aged between 16 – 18 and out of 100% of people 70% said they liked thrillers .We looked at thrillers and found that most thrillers are 15+ . However after filming the opening sequence we found that once it was all put together and edited it was more of a 12A . This is because we compared it to BBFC Criteria and we found that it only showed moderate violence which was not dwelled on . This would appeal to anyone over the age of 12 because of who we used for the cast. Because we used teenagers it is more likely to attract a teenage audience. The slang that was used like “bruh” will mostly be understood by younger generation rather than the elder generations. We asked in our survey what would make a good thriller and the most common answer was suspense , so when making the opening sequence we tried to add as much suspense as we could . By doing this it would make our film more interesting and will most likely gain good feedback from our audience .
