My Evaluation- Media Coursework Anthony Cox

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

Conforming? Not Conforming?

• Has a huge masterhead ‘Lmc’ - just like Nme. The title is similar as I wanted to go for an Nme look.

• Most magazines have a direct picture- can grab consumers attention.

• Has a barcode to look professional with a date and price as Nme does.

• Has a button with text, again adds to professional look, as often Nme do.

• Has a maincoverline, often NME tells stories of bands.

• It has a plain simple colour scheme just like Nme.

• I have selling line at the top.

• I have made the main coverline bold so that it attracts the readers.

• I have also used ‘ plus’ which often occrus in NME.

• Followed the natural C shape. Also followed mise en scene for mag.

• All my text is not aligned together on the left hand side.

• I haven’t put under my magazines title, what it stands for.

• As you can see on the whole I have conformed to the expectations of a magazine, so it is realistic and similar to NME because that is what my magazine is based on.

• Having a contents title which is bold and eye-catching.

• Sticking to the same font styles as my front cover , such as Jadefedga.

• Adding a page number in the corner.

• Having an advertisement,.

• I went for an NME similar look, so it had to be pretty similar, so my pictures all needed to be aligned.

• All my pictures and text (editorial pillars) are aligned.

• I made sure in all my pictures, all the people had the correct Mise en scene, to blend well with my magazine.

• I put my front cover picture in the table contents often NME do this.

• I added page numbers to all my pictures and included an editors note.

• I included pull quotes to draw the consumer in.

• Again I also did this ‘Plus sign ‘ followed my details of articles etc… to add more depth and news to my magazine.

• I could of included a logo of magazine, but I felt I had a lot of info and news of my toc, that I didn’t have enough room.

• On the whole I feel I conformed to the expectation of a music magazines toc, I feel I had the correct look and style to appeal to my consumers.

• I also added the website to my toc.
