I set the price of my magazine at the cost of £2.95, one would say that is expensive however I would say that through the availability and consistency of interesting topics that my magazine would be working on; I think it would be no problem for people to pay for my magazine. Referring back from before my target audience is for men and women around the ages of 18 – 30 and have an interest in R&B. I believe that this would be a cheap price as due to the quality provided my magazine would be one of the cheapest price of my genre. Additionally, as young people are often short with money I believe that this is something that would easily attract them. Especially through our network through the media as young people spend a lot of time on that. When it came to my target audience, I looked into more than solely the area of music tastes; I began to think about what other things they would like, i.e. shops, TV shows, clothing. A couple of brands that I initially thought of were Gucci, Nike, Adidas and Prada which showed wealth and caught the eye of another. The reason why I thought of this; is because when advertising my magazine, I would know the particular areas where to promote it or even to aim for areas where a lot of people lived who would buy that type of clothing. Perhaps I would like to appeal to a niche of the audience of my music genre by offering special offers on the next week’s magazine which would be good especially for young people as stereotypically, they would not reject a discount. I decided to attract my magazine to both male and female because stereotypically R&B is a male dominated genre and with my magazine I added the names of famous female rappers who have a big influence on the music of today. Often girls who like rap are ones who reject the norms of society of meaning that girls should only like pop. I tried to create this appeal for women as I made my model have no top on because stereotypical a man with a good body (and relating to the genre tattoos) would attract a female audience. Therefore, I made this a key focus when editing my photo on Photoshop.
