How does your media product represent particular social groups? My music magazine is represented to age group of around 18-25 year old. My target was to produce a magazine that would appeal to both sex and to those of the age 18-25. The style and layout of my magazine cover implies that it is for the older target as apposed to a more teenaged basted target audience. The photograph on the cover shows the rock band Blink 182 and the placement of them in such way portrays a group bad feel. Throughout the cover and content page I have used two fonts and six font sizes. This gives my magazine a more formal look appealing it to my target audience.

What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

I think my magazine would be distributed by IPC Media as IPC Media distribute magazines such as “NME”, which was my main inspiration when creating my magazine as it had a similar target audience. My audience is men at the age of 18-25 and IPC Media also publish other magazines such as “Nuts” which is for the same target audience as my music magazine. When creating my magazine I had to take into consideration how important my context was and how important it was for magazine to get a profit. When considering these factors I realised that my content wasn’t the most important thing about my magazine but it was a major factor as I need to appeal to a older target audience. Whereas profit was not so much a issue as my magazine as many adverts which would finance and help me earn my profit.

Who would be the audience for your media product? The audience for my music magazine are men around the age of 18-25. The audience of my magazine would be the kind of people who listen to rock music and bands such as (Blink 182, Sum 41, Pendulum and other bands such as those) . My audience are people who look like this.

My magazine addresses these type of people and this audience. My magazine does this by the colour scheme I have used and the people on the cover of my magazine.

How did you attract/address your audience?I attracted my audience for my magazine my using certain colours that would appeal to them. I researched what colours to use by constructing a questionnaire which I asked to my target audience.

What colour would you like to see on a music magazine as a them besides white and black.

Yellow--3 Green-- 1 Red--8 Purple--4 Orange--0 Pink--0 Blue--4

With this questionnaire I also presented my questioned audience with music magazines such as NME Kerreng and Vibe and asked them which they preferred.

NME--9 Kerrang--4 Vibe--7

Using this feedback I created my music magazine to suit my audience.

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

Whilst constructing my magazine I have learnt new skill on adobe InDesign and developed my skill on adobe Photoshop.

Using InDesign was not that difficult to use and get used to as I was already used to using adobe software before.

The accessible and the ability to get hold of the Photoshop is the difficult part of using the technology. Buying the product is expensive as well as hard to install on your computer at home but once you have access to the software it is quite straight forward to use.

Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

From creating my college magazine for my preliminary task I have improved a lot more as I know more about the conventions of a magazine and I have improved my skills on how to use software to my prove my final product. Other factors such as time and planning also help a lot towards my final product being better then my preliminary task.

Audience feedback on music magazine. After creating my music magazine I had made printouts of the cover content page and my double page spread. After doing this I asked 20 people of my target audience a few questions about my magazine and based on this feedback I feel I have achieved my goal as I have created a music magazine that appeals to my target audience.

My Questionnaire:

Out of 10 rate these qualities of my magazine.

1. Does the colour scheme appeal?2. Does the Rock Band on the front cover appeal?3. Does the text in the magazine meet standards?4. Would you choose this magazine if u saw it at a store?5. How is the magazine in hole for appeal to you?
