Camera: Canon 700D

We used a Canon 700D for shooting the scenes in our film, we decided to use this camera as we were familiar with it from using it for our AS blog, it is a 18 megapixel DSLR which allowed us to take clear/high image quality photo’s and videos, which was important for when shooting our scenes.

Using the camera to film our shots was easy, along with the tripod, allowed us to shoot a variety of different scenes, such as panning an moving the camera to track our main characters movement with ease. We also experimented some scenes with different light modes/settings so we could see which effect looked and did not look good with the theme of our film.

As we sometimes had to use manual focus in order to obtain clear image, the Canon helped us learn new things/experience, of which some we had already knew and did not. The manual focus helped us ensure that the image played back to us was clear and of high quality.

Sound equipment:Zoom Handy recorder H4N and boom microphone. (batteries, memory card)• The equipment we used to record our sound effects and the audio used in our

scenes was a Zoom handheld recorder H4N and a boom microphone. This allowed us to successfully record our scenes and if necessary, separate audio recordings to later input in post production.• Using the Boom microphone allowed us to obtain a better quality of audio being

recorded, the boom allowed us to place the microphone above our actors heads, allowing for clearer sound to be recorded. we moved the boom closer in certain scenes to make the audio clearer such as when pre- recording our main characters (PETER) voice over scenes, where we recorded closer to the actors mouth to gain an even better quality of audio. We used the boom in all of our scenes due to how clear it made the audio.• The only struggles we had with using the boom microphone was that we had to

know when to bring the boom close to the actors mouth to emphasise a scene and also to make sure the audio equipment was not on camera/ in shot.
