Visual Write Up

This visual represents my vision of the poem, The Swimmer's Moment, by Paul Muldroon, and the actions of Eowyn in the film, The Return of a King in the saga, Lord of The Rings, and their connection. The Swimmer's moment is a poem that

promotes the message, all people have the chance to take a risk but many choose to ignore it and end in despair, and the character, Eowyn in the Lord of the Rings, a headstrong, brave, and risky woman both make a connection to

one another. The whirlpool in the visual, is the black pit that can drag a person in, and perhaps lead to calmer rivers, which lead to an “estuary”, or peace and serenity in a person's life. For Eowyn, she was able to overcome the rapids, or the turmoil, but for others, they may not succeed the first time, or at all. In the film, characters that fail would be those who died, or the King who refused to

participate and ending up succumbing to death. Eowyn was aware of the risks, but alas, she prevailed in the end.
