Key devices:•Ladies and Gentleman- address audience throughout• Second person “YOU” •Use of “WE” to force audience to take your side. •Rhetorical questions.•Exclamations!! Short emphatic sentences. “I think not!”•Statistics to prove research and knowledge•Expert opinions to support points made.•Dramatic and over the top language. A speech can be a little exaggerated so use hyperbole!•Superlatives to show it is the BEST or WORST. •Magic 3- you want to emphasize your point so stress it 3 times!•Actual /specific examples to prove your point
