Normal usage, bill would have been $527.35

By using conservation, my bill was $474.87

= Savings of $ 52.48

The Big Picture

AEL&P customers consume 293 million Kwh annually

If 14,500 customers conserved 15%, near 44 million Kwh saved

Based on 2008 current rates, that is a savings to Juneau of $4,620,000.

Conclusion

Limiting or cutting out heavy weight appliance effectively lowered my bill and energy

usage in an electrical crisis by 12-33%.
