This world is beautiful… Unfortunately lots of humans don’t understands it. Saving our nature and our nature resources means saving ourselves.

Page 3: Energy and Environment

‘’But why?’’,you will ask me.

Well, did you know that, if you dont’t turn off tap

while brushing your teeth, per minute it runs 4 liters of water?

Have you ever wondered to economize natural resources?

Page 4: Energy and Environment

Let’s talk about electricity. As we all know, it is really necessary in our lives.Than, how to economize?Well,I and my family willshow it to you

Electricity

Page 5: Energy and Environment

We are using natural lighting. No curtains during the day. It will save a lot of electric energy.

NO

Page 6: Energy and Environment

We use only economic light-bulbs.It’s a bit expensive, but it saves a lot of

electricity.

Page 7: Energy and Environment

WE USE THE TV OR THE COMPUTER. NOT BOTH AT THE SAME TIME.

WHY? BECAUSE IT TAKES A LOT ELECTRICITY, AND YOU CAN BE ENTERTAINED BY ONLY ONE OF THEM.

OR

Page 8: Energy and Environment

WE HAVE ANOTHER RULE TOO- WHEN YOU LEAVE THE ROOM, TURN THE LIGHTS OFF.

OF COURSE, DON’T FORGET ABOUT TV, STEREO, COMPUTER, ETC.

Page 9: Energy and Environment

When we leave the house for some days, we pull out all plugs from sockets

Page 10: Energy and Environment

We defrost our fridge once a month.

Page 11: Energy and Environment

When we are out of town for more than a couple days, we turn off our water heater.

Page 12: Energy and Environment

We Make sure that outdoor lighting is turned off during the day.

Page 13: Energy and Environment

At first,we decide what we want from the refrigerator or freezer before we open them so we don’t waste electricity by standing there looking inside and keeping the door open.

Page 14: Energy and Environment

Before putting hot foods into the refrigerator, we cool it to room temperature (unless the recipe tells not to do this).

Page 15: Energy and Environment

We defrost food before we bake or microwave it.  This uses 1/3 less energy than if we bake food that is still frozen.

Page 16: Energy and Environment

We usualy use gas teakettle, not the electric one.

Water

Without water there is no life. Save the water and planet will say ‘’Thank you’’ .

Page 18: Energy and Environment

We wash our clothes in washing machine only when it is full.

Page 19: Energy and Environment

We have only short-time showers.

Page 20: Energy and Environment

The best shower in summer is………

Swimming in the lake.

Page 21: Energy and Environment

We keep a bottle of drinking water in the fridge.

Page 22: Energy and Environment

As I said in the intro: we keep the tap closed while we are brushing our teeth.

Closed

Page 23: Energy and Environment

When we wash our hands, we wash them with cold water.

Page 24: Energy and Environment

-Putting shampoo in your hair?

-Yes…

-Close the shower tap ,you don’t need it a that moment

Page 25: Energy and Environment

Heating keeps you in warm. It’s really necessary in winter months. We heat our house almost every day in Latvia.

Heating

Page 26: Energy and Environment

We try to economize logs which we are putting in oven, stove or furnace.

Page 27: Energy and Environment

In my house curtains do not hang over radiators.

Page 28: Energy and Environment

Good way to save heat is heat insulation.

Page 29: Energy and Environment

When it gets cold, we don’t heat stove…

We just dress up a little warmer…

Page 30: Energy and Environment

After making dinner in the oven, we leave the oven door open.

Page 31: Energy and Environment

Remember, it’s not difficult. You just need to start it and do it regularly with whole your family.
