What are the benefits of this method?Telling the story is a kind of activity which includes all

four skills: listening , speaking, writing and reading.Verb stories help students listen to the teacher very

carefully when he is narrating the story so it helps students improve their listening skill.

When students are listening to their teacher, the teacher is supposed to write new verbs on board .They have to note down verbs and they are supposed to find their meanings from a source that has been given to them. It arouses their curiosity and reading habit.

Teacher has to be very slow while narrating the story so that students can easily find meanings from source . At the same time students have to write those verbs in their notebooks. It will improve their writing skill also.

Then the teacher is supposed to ask those meanings .

Students will respond and reply. At the same time they should be asked to speak those verbs and their meanings. They will understand the meanings and will use them to understand the sentence structure. It will be a kind of autonomous method which helps students feel self motivation, which will be coming from within. It helps them develop their self-confidence that they have done their work properly.

The teacher should not first explain the definition of verb or rules of grammar. It is traditional teaching method of grammar which arouses “FEAR’’ in students. Instead, the teacher should make students learn and indulge in learning on their own because self- learning helps students a lot. It is a method of an extra ordinary teacher to use this way of story telling because kids are always fond of listening to stories.

It is a method of “LEARNING OF SELF LEARNING” !The teacher should not inform the students about

what he is going to teach, instead he should inform the students about what (WE- students and teacher both) are going to do.

Self- learning should be provided with teacher’s guidance!

The traditional method of teaching is to write new spellings of new words on blackboard and then tell students forcefully to write them thrice and remember. The teacher will not start the lesson until they complete their writing of spellings thrice . It threatens students!

And finally the teacher should start his story when students have already become familiar with verbs and meanings.

The teacher should make his story visible in front of the students so that they can visualize and he should make colorful lines or highlight the sentence where verbs have been used so that the students can recall those verbs and understand that how they have been used and in which context!
