Acts and Scenes

An act is a unit of action in a play

while a scene a unit of action that takes

place in a single time and place.

MYTH

Myths are specific accounts of gods or superhuman beings involved in extraordinary events or circumstances in a time that is unspecified but which is understood as existing apart from ordinary human experience.

They are usually of unknown origin and at least partly traditional, that

ostensibly relates actual events and that is especially associated with

religious belief.

LEGEND

A legend is a semi-true story, which has been passed on from person to person and has important meaning or symbolism for the culture in which it originates. It usually includes an element of truth, or is based on historic facts, but with 'mythical qualities'.

Legends usually involve heroic characters or fantastic places and often

encompass the spiritual beliefs of the culture in which they originate.

SUPER-STITION

Superstition is the belief in supernatural causality—that one event causes another without any natural process linking the two events—such as astrology and certain aspects linked to religion, like omens, witchcraft, and prophecies, that contradict natural science.

It is also commonly applied to beliefs and practices surrounding luck,

prophecy, and certain spiritual beings, particularly the belief that future

events can be foretold by specific unrelated prior events.
