Get to know me

I currently just finished up my freshman year of college.

I was accepted into the nursing program last fall.

I am hoping to continue on with schooling after I obtain my RN degree to obtain my Nurse Practitioner Degree.

I love going to the lakes.I am really excited to learn about different

women in different cultures.

Facts of Egypt

This is a map of Egypt. It is a country in Northern Africa.

The capital of Egypt is Cairo.

The population of Egypt is around 80,335,036

The main religion of Egypt today is Islam.

The gender ratio is 1.017 males to females.

Ancient Egypt

Unlike women in most ancient civilizations, women in Egypt held as many rights as an Egyptian man.

In Egypt today, male supremacy is the accepted norm.

Domestic violence against women is a significant problem in Egypt.

The picture illustrates a woman being buried up to her neck to be stoned to death for her punishment.

Women and Abuse

Wife beating is common occurrence.

Spousal abuse is means for divorce but the plantiff must produce evidence. This includes having eyewittnesses.

In the U.S., rape is illegal; in Egypt, marital rape is not.

Women and Traveling

If women in Egypt are under the age of 21, they must acquire permission from their fathers to travel.

If a woman is married, she must obtain permission from her husband to travel.
