Fast Facts about EgyptWithout the Nile River, Egypt would be all desert with no civilization.

Ancient Egyptians believed in many gods and goddesses in hopes of harmony and peace.

Pyramids were built as tombs for Pharaohs and their Queens.

A sarcophagus was used as a coffin for mummified pharaohs. The sarcophagus was placed inside the tomb of a pyramid. Pyramids come in many shapes and sizes-there are over 80 that have been found!

Ancient Egyptians believed it was important to record and communicate information. They invented written scripts! The most famous of all scripts is hieroglyphic.
