21,000 students further 17,000 at partner institutions

8 international and 22 UK partners

Over 400 courses

NATURE OF PARTNERSHIP

Students entitled to use the University Library but this is supplementary to local provision.

Nominated Information Specialist to liaise with partner institutions library staff and inform of any changes.

Provide opportunities for staff development and collaboration, inductions for new staff and support to address issues concerning the quality of provision.

Provide partnership loans.

TAKING HEAD OUT OF THE SAND

If access is already in place due to prior arrangements, removing access is likely to cause a lot of disruption for FE colleges. We advise universities that these partners continue to access the resource until the licence expires/is due for renewal and then the access is removed. This will allow the FE College to be notified in advance and consider its options for the future.

CHALLENGES: PUBLISHERS

The number of students and staff in the partner institution; the location of the partner institution; the method of controlling remote access (e.g. UK Access Management Federation, Athens, etc). The institution needs to show that access can and will be limited to the relevant staff and students in the partner organisation; the nature of the relationship with the partner institution: for example, is the partner delivering courses which the Authorised Institution validates
