The Facilitator
Is not necessarily the expert on the topic
Appoints a recorder
Back channel encouraged!
○ Our backchannels –or #edcampd20
Does not dominate the conversation
Encourage discussion, ask questions!
Allow all people to contribute
Keeps the conversation on topic
Keep it focused on what you CAN do
Facilitator Tips and Ideas
Start with a question
Brainstorm with your participants
Questions you might ask: What is our main objective? Goals for students? (or
teachers?)
Has anyone tried or seen another approach?
Are we asking the right questions?
What were some of it’s benefits? Challenges?
What do you think students would say?
What do you think administrators would be concerned about?
