Problems with portables

• Safety of our children: No bathrooms• Security of the building: External doors

have to be left open• Health…no running water for washing

hands, equipment or drinking• $10,000.00 per portable to install according

to the Ministry of Education

Pedophile?Overly cautious parents? There has already

been one child sexually assaulted by a stranger in this neighbourhood.

Bushes besides the portable are hiding area for pedophiles, never mind the external doors being unlocked and accessible to the whole school.

School safety is an increasing concern around the country.

Facilities too small

Computer Lab…?Every year it’s you’re next

• A whole school assembly with parents cannot take place

Had to be held at the local high school. We are too big to have events

at our own school.

Change Rooms????

• Non-existent change facilities. Students are unable to change into gym strip or wash after exercise.

Exercise??? We can’t even play league games at our

school

Healthy School??

• In some of the classrooms, this is what our children see every day when they sit in their seats.

And the bathroom is…

• Not only do our kids have to work in this type of environment, but when they do need to go to the bathroom they have to walk ½ way across the school

Solutions

• Ecole Davis Road be moved to top priority for renovation or replacement.

• In the meantime bathrooms be installed in portables

• External exit doors be built into classrooms• Computer lab be updated as a district

priority

• It is time to address the needs of our children.

• It is time to put Davis Road School on your mind map.

• We might be at the end of the your school district, but we are the center of our children’s daily lives.
