Teacher Professional Development Workshop Description This full day Earth Science instructional development workshop will include a hands-on learning session at the Palais des congrès de Montreal, followed by a visit to the Redpath Museum, McGill University. The themes of the workshop will explore: Earth science classroom teaching resources and activities; the geology of the Montreal area; the Redpath Collection; and curriculum connections Date: Thursday May 7 Schedule 8:45 - 9:00 Registration, Welcome, Coffee 9:00 - 11:30 Earth Science hands on learning session, focusing on classroom teaching 11:30 - 12:30 Walking Tour and lunch 12:30 - 1:30 Facilitated tour of the Redpath Museum 1:30 - 2:30 Redpath Exhibits 2:30 - 3:00 Workshop Debrief and Evaluations The workshop is of interest to elementary, secondary and CEGEP (Junior College) Educators, including those in social studies, science and geography. For additional information about the workshop please contact Lesley Hymers ([email protected]). The workshop will be followed immediately by the Annual General Meeting of the Canadian Geoscience Education Network (CGEN), scheduled for 3:00 - 5:00, at the Redpath Museum.
