Apologies for the blurry pictures !

• This is the only digi-pack that I own. It is Slipknots 10th anniversary special edition self titled album with plenty of extra tracks, demos, remixes and a DVD packed full of live footage, them messing around on tour and they’re music videos.

• The design is that of three CD sized panels with room for 2 compact disks and a booklet which includes lyrics and messages from the band.

• The artwork focuses mainly on the band, having lots of group shots. It has un-conventional track listings as they are presented on their side following the lines of the artwork.

• From this I know, that if I’m to make a good digi-pack, I will have to make sure I get some half decent shots of my (fictional) band and put an original spin on the artwork and/or layout.

• Here is Mushroomhead’s latest album “Beautiful stories for ugly children”. It is not technically a digipack but I really like the layout and the photography of the band.

• The panels are in a cross shape which all folds out to show each individual band member, then the whole band and finally giving you access to the CD and the booklet.

• The CD isn't held in the conventional way as they just slide out of slots in the left and right panels.

• I am inspired to make my digi-pack similar as my fictional band and indeed Convergence are pretty much the same genre of music as Mushroomhead.

• But for my one I think a 5 panel cross with the four band members around the edge is a good idea.

• Again, this is not a digi-pack, but I think it is so awesome I would like to include Tool : “10,000 Days” anyway!

• The art is simply amazing, and the inclusion of the 3D glasses makes is stand out from other albums, quite literally!

• It is unconventional as it does not contain images of the band members or even any lyrics. And all the art is done by one guy, which is the direction I want to take my illustration aspirations!
