INFORMATION They are paleoptera. How many species of dragonflies

are there inEurope and the Iberian Peninsula? They are 120 species in Europe and

77 species in the Iberian Peninsula.

CHARACTERISTICS They are characterized by

their large multifaceted eyes, their two pairs of strong transparent wings and their elongated abdomen. Their wings are over the abdomen.

FOODThey feed on mosquitoes and other

small insects such as flies, bees, butterflies and moths.

HABITATIts natural habitat is in the vicinity of lakes, puddles, rivers and marshes, since their nymphs are aquatic
