Mock up planThe border I am going to be using is the design on the front cover. I have taken this border idea from my inspirational magazine and also because my target audience like variation and you don’t see borders on magazine double page spreads and so this makes these pages unique and different. It will also attract my target audience when they are flicking through the magazine as they will see the same design as on the front cover and so they will know this is the page about DJ Amzz.

Adding the border

Adding the title• I am going to add the title “DJ AMZZ rise to fame” because

it straight away tells the reader what the article is going to be about.

• I am going to have it in two separate boxes as when the magazine would be put together, you lose some of the image and text when the page is folded in half. Therefore, I am leaving a space so that it all stays on the page and you can still read it.

• I also added a blue background so that it doesn’t look boring and so that it also adds to the brightness of the image

Add images

Currently I don’t have any images for the double page spread as there wasn’t enough cameras in school to be able to take one home. Therefore, I am just going to add a space for them and then insert the images after.Again I am going to be leaving space in the middle so that when you fold the pages in half you can still see them.

Add article

• Next I am going to add in the article which will go in two columns on each of the pages. I will change the colour of the questions so that they are easily noticed and also I am going to split up the article so that it is in four sections for design.

• I am also going to use the line tool to create a drop cap like the one used in my inspirational magazine. However, the drop cap used there is very large and thick, mine is going to be smaller and thinner.

Changes• I’ve made some changes to the article. For example, I

removed the first part of the introduction and other parts of the article as it was too long to fit in. Therefore, I changed the drop cap to a ‘D’ but there wasn’t an option to curve the line and so I wasn’t able to make the drop cap similar to the previous ‘E’. In addition, I made the text white so that you could see the writing even though it was quite small.

• Also, I went over the gaps I left in between the sections as there wasn’t enough space and so this was the option I had to make space.

As you can see, in my inspirational magazine, there are two columns going down the side of the pages. I decided to use this in my magazine as well but I don’t have a large letter at the start of the article.

Page 15: Double page spread process

Also, my inspirational magazine has a larger image going across the two pages. At the start I was going to have my image smaller with the artists name at the top. However, after trialling both ideas, I preferred having the larger image as it makes the page seem more connected rather than having the image and text separate. To make a larger image I need to remove the original title “DJ AMZZ rise to fame…” and so instead of this I will use a quote on top of the image and have “DJ AMZZ” in the corner of the page

Adding a quote

Similar to the MixMag magazine, I am going to add a quote that the artist said on the image so that it really ties everything together. I am going to put this in white and have it in italics and underlined.

Finally

• I am going to add a little tab on the corner of the page with ‘DJ AMZZ’ written on it so that those flicking through the pages would be able to see it and read the article about him.
